「壽」(longevity) Orthodox character Glyph evolution sequence and older variants Core character components (for non-cursive characters) If you've managed to spot at least both of these components in your character, regardless of whether other components are present, chances are you're looking at「壽」. Top component:「耂」(ignore greyed out part) ...

Translation requests are on topic as long as you have demonstrated “homework”, i.e.: pre-question effort. You mention that you’ve tried: searching possible English words OCR This is already more than enough “evidence” that you’re not just treating the site as a bulk translation resource. You can simply ask one question with pictures of the cufflinks ...

While the edit is indeed a grammatical correction, it's also a minor issue. It's the kind of edit I'd do stealthily when the question has already been bumped, otherwise it's somewhat disruptive (particularly if done in large numbers). I've certainly learned to let go when people say things like "it's a slang" and "I'm a Chinese"; a lot of communication ...

No human sees them before posting. I believe you're looking at the automated system that checks questions prior to answering: "Draft your question" followed by "Review your question". It points out errors such as: "Title is missing." "Please enter at least one tag; see a list of popular tags." I don't think the ...

I believe 起 will display based on the fonts that are installed on your computer and the fonts that are called on by your browser. There is one common Unicode point: 8D77 Unifiable variant variants are merged and it is up to the fonts to do the work of sorting. What you can do is write their compositions: ⿺走己 ⿺走巳 Wiktionary also writes the compositions ...

To help maintain quality (and reduce user time spent on curation), Stack Exchange has both a question ban and an answer ban. In this case, I think you've hit the question ban. (Your questions are listed here.) This is an automatic process (i.e., there's no human directly involved), and only Stack Exchange staff knows the precise algorithm. Wouldn't it be ...

In most cases, you don't need to do anything. All you need to do is to wait until 03:00 UTC, and tags which don't have any associated questions will be effectively deleted (hidden). This cleanup occurs every day. If the tag gains an associated question, the tag needs to be edited out of the question, and the next cleanup cycle will trigger a soft-delete. See ...

Another comment from Robert Cartaino might shed a little light on this: Our goal to make the Stack Exchange Network a great place to produce high-quality Q&A sites, no matter what language they speak. But we are still predominantly an English-speaking organization and we need to understand the underlying premise of these sites. Although he's talking ...

It looks like we're okay for now: We have ideas for how to better integrate technical content from across SE with the knowledge sharing that happens on SO, and vice versa. For the broader SE community discussing non-technical topics, we have no plans to change anything at the moment. Pchandrasekar, Stack Exchange CEO, 21 January 2020 This has now been ...

「福」(fortune, blessing, happiness) Orthodox character Sample of older variants and regular script counterparts 「福」+「宀」 「福」+「宀」+「玉」 「福」, replacing「畐」with「北」 「福」+「北」 Core character components (for non-cursive characters) 「畐」(or some minor shape change from「畐」) is the most important component. If it isn't present, you're unlikely to be ...

Apparently it was a bug, but it has been fixed since. It didn't work in your comments because they behave differently than posts. So I fixed them for you. This is how they should look: [`[1]`](http://kaifangcidian.com/han/yue/%E5%89%A9) Add the back ticks so that it escapes the characters.

Before implementing a feature you should: Post it on the relevant site (here in this case), to get support. Once you have support, you can then escalate to the Meta SE site. Without proper site support, it's unlikely you'll get a new feature added.

As a moderator, I don't have any control over software changes. I can only change configuration settings like help text. I looked at several other questions labeled feature-request, and I didn't see any responses from the Stack Exchange team. If I were you, I'd post feature requests to meta.se, and use this site for discussions of how to use the software we ...

Done. The same fix that was done on Japanese SE has been configured for the main site.

What does "user was removed" mean and why did my reputation change because of it? Some user gave you rep (plus or minus), but their user account was removed, so the rep from their actions was also reversed. In your case, it might have been downvoting you (-2) or you downvoted them twice (-1 twice).

I hadn't noticed it got frozen. Now everything is back to its normal temperature!
